Red Dirt Girl Twirl

Sunday, April 27, 2025

Three of our favorite folk femmes from just across the Sumner County Line will bring their unique sounds and songs to the Loblolly Stage on Sunday, April 27.

Monica Taylor, known far and wide as the Cimarron Valley Songbird, and as an original Cherokee Maiden, sings with a remarkable lilt and yodel. A proud member of the Cherokee Nation, she hosts her own concert series in Perkins, Oklahoma, has appeared on A Prairie Home Companion, and tours regionally.

Carter Sampson performed here a few summers back and had one compelling thing to say, “Boy howdy. These folks really listen!” She is a stylish wordsmith, and tours annually in Europe.

Flanked by these veterans, fresh-faced Mallory Eagle, has a wonderful new collection of original country songs that already sound like industry standards. She is quickly gaining attention in music circles and we will likely say, we heard her when.
