Arb-Pothecary: Discovering the abundance of wild food+medicine in the weeds and trees.
Join us for guided walks through the Arboretum with Annie Friesen. Learn about the various plants growing in our gardens and wild spaces that offer their gifts of food, medicine, craft and more. Plant walks will be announced throughout the season and occur on Saturday mornings, often accompanied by yoga in the Lotus Garden, led by Jessica Dunnegan from Yoga State Studio in Augusta, KS.
Meet The Instructor

Annie Friesen's relationship with Nature is informed by a core belief that Land is Teacher, Healer, Sustainer. Years spent working with dirt-covered hands in forest, field, mountain and plain have led to ever-deepening kinship with the flora and fauna of diverse ecosystems. With plants as food, medicine, and craft, the learning is endless and the joy abundant.
Annie has been tending land at Bartlett since 2021 with a focus on the food+medicinal gardens.
