Cherish the Ladies - SATURDAY - May 6
Cherish the Ladies, the long-running, Grammy-nominated, Irish-American super group, perform at Bartlett Arboretum, SATURDAY, May 6th (not Sunday) as part of the Tree House Concert Series.
This all-woman Celtic band is on their North American tour and we were lucky enough to snag them while they are crisscrossing the heartland. These notable performers have played at the White House, at the Olympics and have 16 albums to their credit.
Under the leadership of the dynamic flute and whistle champion Joanie Madden, these ladies create a performance that includes a spectacular blend of virtuoso instrumental talents, beautiful vocals, captivating arrangements, and stunning step dancing. Their continued success as one of the top Irish groups in the world is due to the ensemble’s ability to take the best of Irish traditional music and dance and put it forth in an immensely entertaining package.
The New York Times calls their music "passionate, tender, and rambunctious" and the Boston Globe writes, “It is simply impossible to imagine an audience that wouldn’t enjoy what they do.”
